College trips were once something students pined for, but during the pandemic the state of these said trips was left undetermined. Now after two years, they have made their return.
On Friday, Apr 1, 2022 K2 will be touring college campuses around the Bay Area. Freshmen will be touring Cal State East Bay as well as UC Berkeley, Sophomores will be going to Menlo College and San Jose State University while Juniors are touring UC Davis and Sacramento State. Additionally, Seniors will be going to UC Santa Cruz.
During these college trips students will be taking tours to learn about school culture and community. Students will be joined by K2 Alumni who can share their experiences or admission personnel, discussing how to apply and join that school/campus’s community.
According to Roberto Hernandez, Dean of Culture and Instruction at K2, “College trips are a great way for students to visit different campuses, familiarize themselves with the school community and help them make their decision on what school they want to attend after senior year.”
“I think college trips are a good way to get a taste of what college could look like and a chance to talk to current students about their experiences.” said K2 Alumni, Clara Hung, a freshmen at UC Berkeley.
Field trips, in general, give students a unique opportunity to experience learning outside of the classroom. These college trips are a great opportunity to build a community within K2 and as well explore ideas for life after high school.
